Excessive bureaucracy and an over-regulated, inflexible labor market are preventing a large majority of companies in the electrical and digital industries from investing more in Germany. This is the finding of the latest ZVEI decision-maker panel. 85 percent of the surveyed industry decision-makers stated that excessive bureaucracy, regulatory uncertainty, and lengthy approval processes are hindering investment. Three-quarters (75%) of respondents feel hampered by labor market restrictions such as overly rigid working hours or overly restrictive dismissal protection.
