NKT – We are building the world’s largest high-voltage offshore cable factory

To meet the increasing demand for high-voltage power cables, NKT is currently investing approximately EUR 1.3bn in a new cable-laying vessel and establishing the world’s largest factory for high-voltage subsea cables in Karlskrona, Sweden.

As the year comes to an end, it is time to reflect. This year, we made significant progress on the investment at our Swedish high-voltage factory in Karlskrona. With milestones like our third extrusion tower reaching 200 meters, the second tallest in the Nordics, and the progress of our new cable-laying vessel, NKT Eleonora, we continue to expand our production and installation capacity.
