Ensto – Markku Moilanen appointed President and CEO of Ensto

Hannu Keinänen, who has been leading Ensto since 2019, has decided to leave his position as President and CEO of Ensto Group as of June 1, 2023.

Ensto Group’s Board of Directors has appointed D.Sc. (Tech) Markku Moilanen as the company’s new President and CEO. Markku has a long and extensive international experience in demanding management positions. He will start in his new position on June 1, 2023.

“It has been great to work with Hannu. During this time, we have made the biggest strategic decision in Ensto’s history to focus on the electricity distribution business and started a new era together with the Ensto people. I want to thank Hannu for the excellent cooperation”, says Marjo Miettinen, Chairwoman of Ensto’s Board.

Markku Moilanen, who is starting at Ensto, has worked for several years as Vice President, Customer Service, at Fortum, being responsible for the company’s customer service and its development. Markku’s experience also includes working as a Chief Operating Officer of the engineering consulting company Ramboll Group and as the CEO and President of YIT Group. In his doctoral thesis completed in 2009, he studied in an interesting way the interaction of institutions, technology, and markets in the industry evolution of the electricity sector. Markku Moilanen sums up his thoughts about Ensto before starting: “Ensto is a truly international technology company with top expertise and strong roots in Finland. It’s great to join the Ensto team to grow the company forward. I look forward to meeting the Ensto people and our customers all over the world.  And above all: making the world together a slightly better place to live.”

“I warmly welcome Markku to Ensto. Ensto is now a 65-year-old growing family business whose goal is to be a leading expert for electricity distribution companies. Markku’s experience and know-how are perfectly suited to Ensto’s situation, where the selected technology, strategy and growth will be carried forward”, says Marjo Miettinen.
