Danfoss – Danfoss enters exclusivity agreement regarding the acquisition of Alfagomma
Danfoss today announced that it has entered into an exclusivity agreement to conclude the acquisition of Alfagomma.
The intention to acquire Alfagomma aligns with Danfoss’ LEAP 2030 strategy, part of which is to accelerate profitable growth within the Fluid Conveyance division, a core business within the Danfoss Power Solutions segment. Alfagomma, headquartered in Italy, is a leading global manufacturer of hoses, fittings, couplings, and connectors with approximately EUR 600 million in annual sales, 4,500 employees, and operations across 28 production and assembly sites globally. Combining the businesses of both Alfagomma and the Fluid Conveyance division would create a global leader in hydraulic and industrial hose manufacturing and distribution.
Since 2021, Danfoss has significantly strengthened its Fluid Conveyance business through the acquisition of Eaton’s Hydraulics business and, most recently, Hydro Holding in Italy, while continuing to invest in equipment, technology, and infrastructure. Today, Fluid Conveyance is a core and fast-growing business within Danfoss Power Solutions.
Both companies will operate independently throughout the process, maintaining continuity and business as usual for customers, suppliers, and employees. Danfoss intends to complete the transaction and remains strongly committed to investing in the business and maintaining the footprint in Italy. Since 1961, Danfoss has sustained a strong presence in Italy with a current workforce of more than 1,100 employees across 14 sites.
Danfoss considers Italy a core country for future development, with a clear long-term commitment to strengthen the operations, support the industrial base, and ensure stability, growth, and continued investment in the people, capabilities, and operations of Alfagomma.

EMR Additional Notes:
- Hoses, Fittings, Couplings, and Connectors (in the scope of Fluid Conveyance Systems):
- Hoses, fittings, couplings, and connectors form the core framework of fluid conveyance systems used to securely transport liquids, gases, and dry materials across residential, industrial, and agricultural environments. Each component plays a distinct role in directing, managing, or extending the flow within a system while ensuring leak-tightness, pressure integrity, and safe disconnection when required.
- A fluid system relies on four primary parts:
- Hoses: Flexible tubes engineered to withstand specific internal pressures, temperatures, and chemical exposures while carrying fluids or gases and accommodating movement, vibration, or misalignment between connected components.
- Fittings: Semi-permanent joints used to attach hoses to other system components, change fluid direction, or adapt different sizes (e.g., elbows, tees, reducers, threaded or crimped ends). They typically require tools for installation/removal and are not intended for frequent disconnection.
- Couplings: Mechanical devices split into two halves (typically a male plug and female socket) designed to link two separate hoses or tools and allow quick connection and disconnection without tools (especially in quick-connect designs). Many couplings include internal valves that automatically shut off flow when disconnected (e.g., quick disconnect couplings).
- Connectors: Broad terminology used interchangeably with fittings and couplings, often describing user-friendly adaptors like quick-connect garden tap attachments but more precisely refers to any interface component that joins fluid lines, including both permanent (fittings) and detachable (couplings) solutions. In industrial contexts, “connector” is a generic term rather than a specific technical category.
