Southwire – City of Carrollton and Carroll County Celebrate Southwire’s 75th Anniversary with Official Proclamations

On March 23, 1950, Roy Richards, Sr. started a wire and cable company in Carrollton, Ga. 

Beginning with only 12 team members and three used machines, Richards had a simple vision – to bring electric light to his grandmother’s home. 75 years later, that same company – Southwire – is now North America’s leader in wire and cable with more than 9,000 team members around the world and an incredible story to share.
