Prysmian – Energy storage systems: what are they and how they work

Prysmian Group

Electrical energy is a form of energy that cannot be stored directly, but has to be transformed into other forms, such as chemical, thermal, mechanical or potential energy; these forms of energy can then be converted back into electrical energy when needed.

Energy storage systems are devices capable of carrying out these transformations in an efficient and controlled way, allowing to better manage energy supply and demand nationwide.
