NKT – NKT completes swift turnkey repair of export cable at Beatrice offshore transmission system

NKT successfully completed a turnkey repair of one of the 220 kV high-voltage AC subsea export cables connecting the Beatrice Offshore Windfarm in the Scottish Moray Firth to the Aberdeenshire coast. 

The repair was executed in just 38 days.

In April 2025, an unplanned transmission outage occurred on one of two of Beatrice’s Transmission Capital Partner (TCP) owned export cables bringing renewable electricity to shore for around 450,000 UK households and reducing the site’s export capacity by 50%.
