Three out of four mothers and 17 percent of fathers in Germany reduce their working hours after returning from parental leave – often due to the poor childcare situation. Two thirds of parents who work part-time after the birth of their child would prefer to work in a near-full-time or full-time job, provided that childcare is guaranteed.
