ABB – Arconic orders fifth electromagnetic stirrer from ABB to improve aluminium casthouse efficiency

• Arconic’s casthouse in Hungary produces 230,000 metric tons of aluminium per year and has proven track record with ABB technology
• The new equipment will be used on a fifth aluminium furnace to improve efficiency and address operational bottlenecks
• ABB’s AL‑EMS delivers strong, consistent stirring throughout the molten aluminium bath for a quality end product

ABB has received an order from aluminium producer Arconic for a fifth ABB electromagnetic stirrer (AL‑EMS) for its rolling mill and casthouse operation in Székesfehérvár, Hungary. It builds on four successful installations delivered on the same site since 2023, and will improve furnace efficiency, productivity and operational reliability. The order was booked in the first quarter of 2026.
